OUR STORY
Our roots run deep in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a not-for-profit energy provider owned by the people it serves and governed by a nine-member board of directors. Claverack Electric was incorporated on October 24, 1936, and the first electric lines were energized in November 1937. The cooperative delivers electricity to almost 19,000 active accounts and maintains over 2,800 miles of electric lines in eight counties — Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming. With fewer than seven electric services per mile of line, it is evident that Claverack Electric serves a very rural area of Pennsylvania. More information about the cooperative can be found at www.claverack.com.
With the forward thinking of our board of directors and management, as well as encouragement from our membership, Claverack Electric established its subsidiary, Claverack Communications, LLC, to deliver locally operated, reliable high‑speed fiber internet to areas within our service territory. This initiative followed the cooperative’s successful bid for federal funding to support a broadband expansion project in the fall of 2020. We established our broadband brand, Revolution, in the spring of 2022. The three lines in the Revolution logo (which look like streams of data) symbolize three strands representing our company, our customers, and our shared connection to the world. The vibrant green color represents the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. Revolution broadband services will be delivered with the same focus on technological advancements, financial responsibility, and dedication that our electric services are. Claverack Communications will utilize the same systems the cooperative uses to serve its customers, from information technology to poles to the talented employees.
Claverack Communications’ Revolution Broadband is led by Steven Allabaugh, manager, and Kyle Lane, director of broadband operations.
